Overview:

KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named “Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)” operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide back-office support to its member firm KPMG United States (“the Client”). The Clients’ procurement function is expanding operations at JESS to support multiple Procurement processes. Team members within the delivery center work with Client’s stakeholders under a team extension model to support Client’s back-office operations.

The Clients’ Procurement process area performs tasks related to Strategic Sourcing.

JOB SUMMARY: 
The JESS Procurement Operations Team Lead will be responsible for leading several direct reports.  You will oversee a team of at least 7 Officers ranging from Assistant to Senior aligned with the following Client Procurement processes: facilitating and supporting the purchase for indirect spend including technology services, computer hardware and software, publications and subscriptions, office supplies, branded merchandise and other indirect categories utilizing the Coupa platform. Essential duties include assigning tasks to team members, coaching and developing a team of highly motivated top performers, monitoring and measuring process and performance, creating and/or updating process documentation, managing, and resolving escalated issues (processing errors, complex procedures), and ensuring overall Client satisfaction with the delivery of services.  The Operations Team Lead will develop in depth knowledge of the process area and will foster a continuous process improvement culture within the team and will act as a key point of contact between the Procurement team and stakeholders. You will liaise with various departments (e.g., Legal, Risk, Finance, Brand, IT) to ensure purchases meet firm standards and appropriate internal procedures are followed prior to purchase.  

The JESS Procurement Operations Team Lead reports primarily to the JESS Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Manager but will also take direction from Assistant Manager and Client who are accountable for supported work.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
People Management and Development

—Oversees a team of JESS Procurement Officers and is responsible for their in queue performance and development
—Mentors the staff to proactively initiate effective and efficient requisition processing 
—Assist Manager in developing strategies based on business requirements
—Liaise directly with staff from key KPMG compliance departments (Brand Governance, Risk Management, Independence, and other) to effectively assess and execute assigned tasks
—Act as a point of escalation and as a trusted business partner for category managers and requestors
—Actively monitors and measures individual and team performance 
—Proactively Identifies and escalates process gaps and improvement opportunities
—Communicates openly and actively and drives collaboration amongst all teams

Service Delivery
—Oversees teams’ work and monitors workloads while acting as the first point of escalation for complex issues or questions
—Ensures service delivery is in line with operational and contractual performance standards and key performance indicators
—Possesses in depth knowledge of assigned process area and serves as a mentor to team members
—Administer a quality assurance program to adhere to relevant policies and procedures
—Implements continuous improvement initiatives while striving for automation and identifying opportunities for procedural enhancements as escalation point for customer service inquiries and resolving complex problems

Stakeholder Relationship Management
—Acts as point of escalation for customer service inquiries or missed deliverables as needed
—Effectively communicates with the Client to understand any necessary changes to departmental policies and procedures
—Actively participates in problem solving or brainstorming sessions with Client
—Assists the JESS Operations Manager in cultivating productive relationships between operational teams, functional, and program related stakeholders


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and COMPETENCIES:


Education/Experience
—Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement or Equivalent Professional Accreditation
—5+ years’ experience in a procurement or relevant work experience within JESS Job Writing or a similar process
—At least 2 years direct supervisory experience or proven ability to coach, lead, and motivate a team to meet and/or exceed performance goals
—Proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint etc.)

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

—Expected to work in a fast pace team environment
—Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the  entire workday to access data or perform activities
—May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays
