The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and enforcing procurement innovation to lead the client’s procurement team.

Industry: Food & Beverage

Qualification and Experience:

  • Tertiary Education focused on Procurement Activities 
  • Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer or Head of Procurement (3-5years experience minimum)
  • Experience in developing and spearheading a Procurement Unit is an asset

 Requirements and Skills:

  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
  • Talent in negotiations and networking
  • Good knowledge of management software
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  • Experience in collecting and analysing data
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Proven track record of leadership: building, managing, and leading a successful team Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, risk assessment, risk management and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to maximize budget and leverage business information to drive efficiency and success
  • Positive attitude and dependable under pressure - an excellent role model, motivator and leader

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the main point of contact for procurement operations within the company
  • Formulate and enforce Procurement processes and procedures
  • Work closely with the Finance team to control spending and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Provide all financial reporting and forecasting pertaining to procurement to Finance and the Managing Director as per procedure
  • Forecast company needs and supplies pertaining to procurement and ensuring that stock is not in short supply
  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
  • Negotiate new contracts with vendors and suppliers routinely
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
  • Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
  • Delegate tasks to the procurement team
  • Train new employees and support team members as necessary
  • Effectively manage staff under remit, including discipline, performance management, leave management
  • Ensure company policies are adhered to and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for all violations of company policies, rules, and procedures.
