Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Data Analytics team in the capacity of:

 

Privacy Analyst 

Play a critical role in supporting the organization's efforts to protect sensitive data, maintain compliance with data protection regulations, and uphold the highest standards of data privacy.

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the company's privacy program, ensuring data security, building trust with clients, and preserving the company's reputation.

Location: Kingston

 

As a Privacy Analyst, you will:

  • Assist in monitoring and assessing the organization's compliance with applicable local and international data protection laws, regulations, and standards, or industry-specific privacy requirements.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing privacy risks to mitigate potential data breaches and compliance issues.
  • Assist in the development and execution of audit plans and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing reports for management, regulatory authorities, or other stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist in conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)for new projects, systems, or processes to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of data assets, including identifying the type, location, and classification of sensitive data.
  • Participate in the creation of data flow maps to track how data is collected, processed, and transmitted within the organization.
  • Review and assess the organization's privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure they align with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Provide recommendations for updates and improvements.
  • Participate in incident response planning and contribute to investigations, containment in the event of data breaches or privacy incidents.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of privacy training programs for employees to educate them on privacy policies, data protection, and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to promoting a culture of privacy awareness within the organization
  • Stay informed about emerging privacy trends, laws, and best practices.
  • Maintain records of privacy-related activities, risk assessments, compliance audits, and incident response efforts.
  • Assist in preparing reports for management, regulatory authorities, or other stakeholders as needed.

What do you need?

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Data Privacy, Law, or a related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of two (2) years working experience in data privacy, information security, or related field.
  • Familiarity with applicable local and international data protection regulations or other relevant standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with information security.
  • Familiarity with data breach response and incident management.
  • Incident response and data breach investigations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with privacy requirements.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
