Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Operations Services - Underwriting, Provider & Medical Examination Services team in the capacity of:

Practical Nurse

Assist the medical team in the Medical Examination Services Unit by completing preliminary checks including urine and blood pressure tests before examinations.

Conduct the cleaning/sterilisation of the examination rooms, sluice room and medical apparatuses.

As well as assist clients in completing supplemental questionnaires for chronic conditions.

Location: Kingston

As A Practical Nurse, you will:

• Perform limited examination and complete supplemental questionnaires for chronic conditions:
  • Perform height and weight checks.
  • Take and record clients' blood pressure readings.
  • Assist clients in completing supplemental questionnaires for chronic conditions.
• Perform testing of urine using the URISYS Urine Machine in the Paramedic Unit.
• Provides support to the medical doctor and nurses.
• Prepare medical facilities for the comfort and privacy of the client.
• Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• A Diploma/Certification from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in a medical centre, hospital, or ambulatory care setting.
• Respect for clients’ values, dignity, and personal rights.
• Appropriate professional conduct and attire
• Sound human relations and communication (oral and written) skills.
• Expert knowledge of interviewing techniques and recording medical history.
• Ability to work independently and without immediate supervision.
• Practice within the accepted professional, ethical and legal framework for licensed practical nurses.
