The incumbent is responsible for providing support for the proper functioning in the Business Banking unit to ensure the smooth and efficient running of processes that will contribute in a significant way in the Unit achieving its Strategic Goals

Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for providing support for the proper functioning in the Business Banking unit to ensure the smooth and efficient running of processes that will contribute in a significant way in the Unit achieving its Strategic Goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for actioning the following critical reports inclusive but not limited to on a daily basis within stipulated timelines:
    • Force Post Report (insufficient funds/uncleared effects)
    • Overdrawn savings/current accounts
    • Overdraft accounts with no deposits for over a month.
    • Large transaction report
  • Responsible for coordinating and submitting the following reports within the defined SLA:
    • High Risk
    • Pipeline
    • Any other reports as assigned.
  • Responsible for:
    • opening accounts for new clients being on-boarded by the unit.
    • Completion of S&P
  • (b) Annual KYC updates and review of accounts as required.
  • Responsible for dispatching of correspondence and follow up with clients for the required documents for the Credit Officers to complete the annual review process.Preparation of all correspondence required by the Unit for Embassy letters; Bank statements; reference letters, settlement letters and credit enquiries, Letters of Offer all other memos etc. as required.
  • Responsible for re-allocating USD to clients as directed by the Treasury Unit based on CBTT allocation. Ensures payment order forms / letters are received and that clients have sufficient funds available to settle. Preparation / coordination and dispatch of the Unsatisfied demand Report and Other Currency Queue to Treasury within the specified timeline.   
  • Preparation of audit confirmations.
  • Completion of:
    • Call backs
    • Creation/approval of money line
    • Client queries
  • Performs other related duties and any other special projects/reports requested.  

Qualifications (Education & Certification):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management / economics / finance or related field from an accredited University or equivalent qualifications.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years banking experience with specific experience in banking systems
  • Excellent knowledge of retail and commercial banking products and services  

Other (Skills):

  • Critical Thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Highly organized; keen attention to details and accuracy; the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to think proactively.
  • Ability to effectively interact with individuals of all levels both internally and externally.
  • Team building skills and ability to motivate and coach team members.
  • Demonstrates reliability and dependability; evidenced by daily attendance and punctuality.
  • People Management skills
  • Time Management and organizations skills
  • Sound Knowledge of Central Bank Policies and Guidelines
  • Good knowledge of banking practices and procedures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Power Point. Etc.
  • Proficiency in the Bank’s operating system will be an asset.
