Port Facility Security Officer

To coordinate and organize all maritime and land-based security activities and operations at the Terminal (inclusive of Port and Tank Farms) and assist in the delivery of safe, reliable and compliant operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborates on the development of training procedures and instruction on the use of new and existing physical, technological and Maritime security measures, with a view to protecting most vulnerable and critical assets. 
• Conducts Risk Assessments and Security Vulnerability Assessments for the Port, OBU and Maritime Operations.  Ensures and oversees the implementation of the findings. 
• Provides guidance to the Corporate Security Manager (CSM) and the Leadership of the OBU relative to all Maritime issues.
• Plans and recommends strategies to mitigate against crime and criminal activities for all Heritage assets - maritime and land.
• Ensures proper reporting protocols are adhered to and all reports are accurately completed within the stipulated timeframe.
• Assists with Security programmes and plans including incident response management and recovery plans and coordinates the implementation of Emergency and Incident Response, Management and Recovery plans as it relates to Port Security Operations.
• Performance planning, review and assessment conducted for staff in accordance with Company’s stipulated Performance Management timelines.
• Maintenance of records relative to occurrences which threaten security of the Port Facility and report same to relevant authorities.
• Responsible for compliance and training of the contracted Security Officers.
• Keeps abreast of technology related to maritime security.
• Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.
