To design data acquisition programs, support logging operations and perform integrated reservoir studies for the purpose of evaluating oil and gas prospects and acquisition opportunities as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyses and integrates petrophysical data (core analysis results) and interprets well logs.
  • Plans well data acquisition programs in line with well and business objectives.
  • Liaises with core, log and LWD data acquisition contractors, before and during acquisition and in post-well interpretation phase.
  • Ensures all tools are calibrated before shipping to the jobsite.
  • Supports the forward drilling programs by actively witnessing and supervising logging runs on all HPCL wells.
  • Provides assurance on well log quality control and ensures all well log data are accurate before transference from the rig site.
  • Coordinates appropriate well-site witness work for specialist runs.
  • Liaises directly with geophysicists, geologists and engineers in reservoir characterization to explore, appraise and optimize production from fields.
  • Delivers post-well standard interpretation.
  • Aids the integrated full field reservoir description models which take full account of log, core and seismic data as well as dynamic pressure and water movement data.
  • Manages core and fluid analysis programs.
  • Populates and maintains corporate and project well databases.
  • Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences.

 Minimum Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Petrophysical Engineering with a minimum of three (3) years in the oil and gas industry.

 Job Specific Skills

  • Knowledge of major Petrophysical software packages applied in the industry for well and reservoir interpretation.
