KPMG CARICOM seeks to identify a talented and driven individual to join us as a Pension Fund Junior Accountant in our Kingston office.

The Pension Fund Junior Accountant will assist in preparing financial statements and accounting reports. The Junior Accountant will be a member of the Finance and Administration team and will be required to assist with managing and overseeing the financial records and reporting of the firm's pension funds.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with preparing monthly operations cost reports
- Support the preparation of monthly cost analysis
- Assist in budgeting for future pension payments
- Entering journals in Sage
- Entering bank transactions in Sage
- Preparing bank reconciliations using Sage
- Assist with maintaining fixed asset register
- Maintain detailed records of all pension fund transactions
- Assist with the preparation of all necessary working papers, pension accounts and reconciliations of the financial statements
- Assist with the preparation of accurate financial reports for the pension funds, while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Process pension benefits distributions while ensuring that they are done accurately and carried out on a timely basis
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Grade II in CXC English Language or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in a junior accounting role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field
- Experience using SAGE/ACCPAC software in a professional role
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse financial data
- Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to adapt to a multi-cultural experience

- Required to work beyond normal working hours, when necessary
- Exposure to confidential information
- High level of integrity and confidentiality is required
- Required to work to set deadlines
