KPMG CARICOM seeks to identify a talented and driven individual to join us as a Pension Fund Accountant in our Kingston office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and review inputs for accuracy and completeness.
- Make/review/post journal entries where necessary.
- To aid in or review the reconciliation of subledgers, general ledger accounts
- To assist with the maintenance of the subledgers for the staff loan balances.
- To offer aid in securing the payment of statutory deductions.
- Reviews prepared GCT returns for submission
- Review requests for RTGS or cheque payments
- Timely and effective management of general ledgers.
- To prepare monthly draft financial statements.
- Prepare audited financial statements and liaise with auditors during the audit process.
- Review monthly operations cost reports
- Review monthly cost analysis and explanations for variances
- To review bank reconciliations
- To ensure that the fixed asset register is maintained
- To supervise and maintain prepayments and other audit schedules
- Lead and train staff, review their work, ensuring that they understand the objectives and implications of the work they are doing.
- Examine the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of internal controls and systems and make recommendations thereon.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from recognized university in Accounting, Finance
- Master’s in Accounting or fully qualified Chartered Accountants (e.g., ACCA or CPA)
- At least four (4) years post qualification accounting experience. Experience in Pension Fund accounting would be an asset.

- Functional knowledge of accounting standards
- Exceptional organization, planning and administration skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience using SAGE/ACCPAC software in a professional role.
- Analytical mind and excellent problem solving and data analysis skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and willing to travel.
