This role also involves managing a team of payroll staff, coordinating payroll-related activities, and acting as a liaison between employees and management regarding payroll issues.
Supervise the processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Review and approve payroll reports, adjustments, and any required corrections.
Ensure payroll deadlines are met, and implement or manage automatic payroll systems and processes as necessary.
Lead and mentor the payroll team, providing training and support for payroll-related tasks and issues.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and foster a positive work environment.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and any legislation impacting payroll.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, conducting audits when necessary.
Address and resolve any payroll-related queries and disputes from employees in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to resolve issues and ensure a seamless payroll process.
Prepare and present payroll summaries and reports for management review.
Analyze payroll data to identify trends and discrepancies, providing recommendations for improvement.
Oversee the payroll software and other tools used for payroll processing, ensuring maximum efficiency and security.
Participate in special HR projects, such as employee onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management as needed’
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3 to 5 years work experience in payroll processing, human resources, or accounting.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
