The Payroll Assistant is responsible for supporting the payroll function for the group of restaurants (Texas de Brazil | Rizzoni's | Jaxx International Grill) by ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.

Position: Payroll Assistant                                                     Department: Finance / Accounts     

Reports to: Accountant                                                        Brands: All Dachin Restaurants 

Main Locations: Headquarters & Branches              Base Company: Jaxx International Grill      


Job Summary

 

The Payroll Assistant is responsible for supporting the payroll function for the group of restaurants (Texas de Brazil | Rizzoni's Ristorante Italiano | Jaxx International Grill) by ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. This includes verifying timecards and rosters, acquiring and processing leave forms, liaising with restaurant managers, and ensuring compliance with holiday pay and other statutory requirements.

 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Maintains log of party deposits.
  2. Prints and distributes payslips.
  3. Prints NIS, PAYE & Health Surcharge documents and enters information on the relevant system.
  4. Files Payroll, NIS & BIR receipts.
  5. Prepares and maintains gift certificate log.
  6. Completes reconciliation of gift certificates, party deposits and cash deposits and balances financial records.
  7. Updates and distributes Red Books according to the required schedule.
  8. Reviews employee timecards, rosters and daily sheets (red books) for accuracy and completeness in order to verify employee attendance, hours worked and applicable pay adjustments.
  9. Flags and addresses discrepancies in time entries and attendance records.
  10. Liaises with key stakeholders such as restaurant managers to confirm shift schedules, overtime, and time adjustments.
  11. Collects, reviews and processes employee leave forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation and inclusion of the required approvals.
  12. Updates leave balances in the payroll system and notifies the Human Resource (HR) Department of leave statuses or reconciliations as needed.
  13. Provides employees’ earnings information to the HR Department for completion of national insurance leave forms.
  14. Assists in preparing and processing payroll reports, including regular, overtime, and holiday pay.
  15. Ensures payroll calculations are accurate and comply with statutory regulations and company policies.
  16. Keeps updated on changes in payroll software, laws, and best practices.
  17. Responds to payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers.
  18. Maintains accurate payroll records and documentation in a secure and confidential manner.
  19. Generates and distributes payroll-related reports to management as needed.
  20. Performs other job-related duties as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Possession of five (5) CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English Language. A diploma in Accounting or Business Administration, will be an asset.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in payroll or a similar administrative role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software including Sage 50 Accounting and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
