Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and returning emails to ensure compassionate patient care. Perform insurance verification, eligibility, code providers medical documentation, perform payment reconciliation, perform denial management, and perform collections.

Position Summary:

The Patient Service Advocate (Virtual Medical Receptionist) is responsible for answering phones, scheduling
appointments, and returning emails to ensure compassionate patient care. Perform insurance verification, eligibility, code providers medical documentation, perform payment reconciliation, perform denial management, and perform collections.


Primary Responsibilities
• Answer, scribe, and transfer incoming communication and inquiries by phone and email
• Respond and comply with requests for information

• Schedule, confirm, and maintain timely appoints of patients via phone, online, and patient portal
• Verify insurance information and verify co-pays, deductibles, and balances
• Inform patients of medical office policies and procedures
• Process e-prescriptions and orders
• Virtual back-office support with chart prep, insurance verification, and pre-authorizations, as needed


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis preferred

● Knowledge of US health insurance ( ex. Medicare, BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare), a plus

● Understand general administrative processes
● Ability to multitask VIRTUALLY within a high functioning, fast-paced, multidisciplinary medical center
● Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred
● Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) preferred
● Individual must be skilled in verbal and written communication skills, able to read from a script
● Able to develop good customer relationships to achieve customer satisfaction
● Ability to self-manage and be productive with minimal supervision
● Project management
● Cheerful attitude

● Love to learn new skills


Qualifications:
● High School Diploma required
● 1-2 years’ experience in a medical clinic or medical call center environment preferred

● Ability to tolerate walking, standing, and sitting throughout the day.
● Ability to meet the attendance requirements for the position

 

Compensation:
● Entry level is 500 JMD/hr
