Island Routes is actively seeking to hire a Painter - To Join their Facilities Team!
Painter
He/She will be responsible for responding to the painting requirements and ensure that jobs are performed to the highest standards.
Key Activities and Duties:
- Conducts painting tasks, including preparing and priming surfaces, applying paint, varnish, or other finishes, and ensuring professional-quality results. Responds promptly to maintenance requests.
- Performs routine checks and maintenance of painted surfaces to ensure they remain in good condition.
- Ensures areas are clean and tidy after painting or other maintenance assignments.
- Conducts basic maintenance and repair work, including but not limited to masonry, carpentry, and minor repairs, as needed.
- Responds promptly to maintenance requests in any assigned area, prioritizing painting needs.
- Assists with site inspections and performs other assigned tasks to support facility operations.
- Maintain and stores tools and equipment safely to ensure their longevity and proper functioning.
- Performs any other assigned duties by Management.
Minimum Requirements:
A. Specific Knowledge (however acquired) required to start:
- Good working knowledge of all aspects of painting, including specialized techniques.
- Basic understanding of masonry, carpentry, and other general maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with tools of the trade and their proper use.
- High School Diploma, with passes at CXC in at least three subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
- Formal training and certification in Maintenance but could be a graduate from a Trade Training School specializing in painting.
- At least two (2) years in painting.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate intelligently.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Courteous and tactful.
