Packaging & Engineering Manager

Key Job Responsibilities:
Safety, Food Safety & Sustainability
- Drives a culture of safety and sustainability within the Company by ensuring the thorough integration of all relevant standards— Safety, Environment, Food Safety, and Compliance—into every aspect of daily operations and activities. This includes promoting adherence to these standards, fostering continuous improvement (Via TPM), and ensuring a safe and sustainable work environment for all members.
Work Processes & Continuous Improvement
- Develops and optimizes maintenance capabilities by effectively implementing end-to-end processes, including planning, engineering, execution, and spare part management, while ensuring seamless integration of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency."
- Develops and implements the Long-Term (3YP) and Medium-Term (Annual Overhauls) maintenance master plans, focusing on extending the lifespan of critical assets, enhancing preventive maintenance (PM) strategies, and optimizing maintenance costs. Utilizes condition-based maintenance (CBM) and data-driven insights to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Ensures Packaging and Engineering KPIs—OPI/OEE, Energy, Water, and Product Quality— are aligned with budgets and benchmarks, while initiating, implementing, and embedding process improvements using TPM methodology."
- Oversees all contractors and subcontracted work across the site, ensuring effective cost management and efficient project execution.
- Manages all Capital Projects & Investments at the Brewery, whilst continuously looking for Capex optimization and Capex avoidance
People Management
- Efficiently organizes and leads the Engineering and Packaging teams, overseeing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, and career development, in alignment with Heineken's established procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or other relevant field (MSc Degree Preferred).
- > 5 years’ maintenance management experience including CAPEX projects preferably in a technical or operational role.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing maintenance strategies for long-term asset sustainability and operational excellence.
- Extensive experience in core maintenance and utilities processes, including workflow management (maintenance job lifecycle), maintenance engineering, materials and parts supply, inventory management, CAPEX projects, and cost management.
SKILLS
- Ability to setup and drive (strategic) improvement initiatives and manage changes within the department from the shopfloor.
- Strategic enabler who can effectively work collaboratively with different departments to achieve objectives.
- Agile learner with exceptional management, facilitation, reporting and communication skills.
- Experience in TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
