OUR NEED

The Project Engineer is expected to support of all Companies within the Bermudez Group as it relates to process improvement and efficiency, manufacturing, engineering, plant maintenance, facility maintenance and facility expansion.

Responsibilities included in the role are: -

• Develop, Design and Define project specification and scope such that objectives are achieved.
• Develop project budgets and Time Lines taking into consideration all stakeholders.
• Supervise and manage Projects ensuring established standards, specifications and work targets are achieved in accordance with maintaining Occupational safety, reliability, integrity standards and Food Safety specifications.
• Identify the Suppliers, Consultants, Professionals and other resources that are required to achieve objectives while ensuring compliance with established industry, statutory and regulating standards, practices and procedures.
• Prepare and present Reports on all matters to Management/Steering Committees.
• Ensure that Post evaluations are done on all major projects to validate TOR are achieved as set out and agreed to Project Sponsor.
• Provide Leadership and Mentorship to Juniors in the Department.
• Provide technical Engineering support for Plants within the Bermudez group.
• Ensure the application of established industry, statutory and regulatory safety standards and practices for all plant and equipment engineering.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk analyses as required and ensure technical standards and specifications are satisfied.
• Develop and implement proposals for the capital investment budget and commission approved projects and prepare and present reports and studies as required by the job function.

DESIRED BACKGROUND/SKILLS

• A Bachelor’s Degree in either Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Industrial Engineering.
• At least Five years’ experience as an Engineer in a Manufacturing Environment, acquiring skills and knowledge in electromechanical systems, negotiating, familiarity with Manufacturing, and maintenance systems and experience with Projects Management.
• Good organizational and strong analytical skill with decision making and the ability to communicate effectively and write reports
• Self-starter and driven and can work well with teams, flexible and mentally tough.
• Knowledge of statutory, regulatory and industry imperatives for the engineering functions
• Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) would be an asset
• Excellent computer skills including (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
