To coordinate the development and implementation of the Agency’s marketing strategies and activities with a view to enhance public awareness of the range of services and the uptake of these services

JOB RESPONSIBILITITIES

 

  1. Leads the development of the Agency’s marketing and public relations strategies aimed at enhancing public awareness, reassure confidence in the Agency’s ability to deliver on its mandate and increase self-sufficiency/profitability.
  2. Coordinates the development of the annual marketing operational plans. Plans will include:
  • Analysis of past performance
  • Forecasting
  • Designing specific marketing strategies
  • Creating Advertising and Promotional plans
  • Public Relations strategies
  • Market research strategies
  • Determining marketing and public relations priorities and forecasting resource needs.
  1. Supervises research activities/surveys geared at identifying the service quality offered by the Agency’s Units to its various market segments and recommends strategies and tactics for bridging gaps in customer experience across the diaspora.
  2. Provides guidance to Management Team in executing respective areas of responsibility in the Marketing Plan as necessary
  3. Implements and maintains social media strategy to raise the Agency’s profile and inform the public locally and abroad of the Agency’s activities, policies, procedures for access to Citizenship, Immigration, and Passport Services and products.
    1. Implements outreach and promotional campaigns and strategies for public education. This includes: 
  • ensuring  that arrangements for exposure of the Agency, its products and services at seminars, conferences, meetings and similar events are made  as required,
  • coordinating the activities of committees/ mobile service representatives preparing for, mounting displays and manning booths at exhibitions and similar events.
  • researching and writing copies for external articles and print media
  • preparing for publication reports, newsletters, advertisements, news releases and calendar of events,
  • arranging radio, television or press interviews and other publicity activities for key persons in the Agency,
  • developing publicity materials in printed and email format for Agency activities, and
  • liaising with adverting and media houses accordingly.
  1. Disseminates external communications informing the public on developments concerning the Agency. This involves:
  1. Works closely with Unit Heads and the Director Business Development & Communications to ensure that public education, social marketing, customer service initiatives and the public relations functions are aligned and that target audiences are being reached
    1. Monitors media exposure quality through the use of various data gathering tools and techniques. Tracks and reports on media coverage
  1. Produces informational and promotional materials about the Agency’s programmes and initiatives.
  2. Develops material for the Agency’s website and internet on a regularly basis, keeping content up-to-date and appropriate. Recommends to the webmaster improvements to functionality of the site and how the communication space may be maximized within the standards established for brand security.
  1. Maintains online calendars of upcoming meetings, programmes and events which the Agency may use to promote public education, deliver on its social responsibility and manage its image.
  2. Use best practice information to development and monitor brand guidelines and key messages for the Agency. This involves:
  • developing internal communication policies and procedures for the organization and managing their implementation
  • developing guidelines for the use of logos, fonts, brochures, images and Agency owned copy-write material
  • standardise communication templates and any material used in communication
  • contribute to establishment of the look and feel for the Agency to include consistency in the use of promotional material
  • facilitate the inculcation of the standards and principles by assisting in the dissemination
  1. Oversees the development of a database of stakeholders for the Agency by demography, geography, risk/impact etc. and assist Directors and managers to analyse their needs, relationship strategies and symbiotic benefits and synergies which may be derived.
  2. Represents the Agency at interest group/stakeholder meetings, in the media and at functions as required. Responds to media enquiries out of hours when necessary, particularly during disaster emergencies
  1. Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time.

 

KEY COMPETENCIES

 

The post holder needs to demonstrate the following competencies:

           

  • Sound knowledge of marketing tactics, strategies and approaches
  • Sound project management capabilities and administrative skills
  • Sound  knowledge of relevant computer applications including graphics presentation and word processing software, email and the Internet
  • Good and demonstrated creativity with respect to idea generation and solution implementation
  • Good skills in editing and producing publications
  • Solid experience in Online Marketing and in media management
  • Ability to work with a wide range of media, developing media strategies and relations, preparing press releases and other publications
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube
  • Basic knowledge of regulations governing Immigration, Citizenship and Passports in Jamaica
