POULTRY TECHNICAL FIELD REPRESENTATIVE

The Company is seeking to recruit an energetic individual for the post of Poultry Technical Field Representative to join the Broiler Contract Farming Department. This will be a contracted position for a period of two (2) years.

Master Mix of Trinidad Unlimited, established in 1965, is a leading manufacturer of poultry and livestock feeds, servicing customers throughout Trinidad & Tobago. Master Mix is a subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), headquartered in the USA.

Master Mix of Trinidad Unlimited is seeking to recruit an energetic individual for the post of Poultry Technical Field Representative to join the Broiler Contract Farming Department. This will be a contracted position for a period of two (2) years. The person will report to the Poultry Manager.

 The Role

• The job is a field-based position offering great technical support and best animal husbandry practices to our poultry farmers for them to achieve optimal broiler life cycle growth and desired grow out parameters.
• To interact with farmers to solve problems as well as building good working relationships
• To interact with the Poultry Surveillance Unit, the Vet Lab, and other veterinary service providers regarding diagnostic and disease prevention programs 
• To function within a collective team effort comprising the hatchery, feed mill, poultry sales department and accounts departments
• To visit and make weekly farm inspection reports
• To prepare and make timely electronic submissions of feed orders
• To plan and schedule for the restocking of farm growing space
• To ensure farmers are compliant with proper record keeping systems in accordance with the Company’s accounting procedures and timetable. 

Qualifications and Experience 

• A BSc. Degree in Agriculture from the University of the West Indies (UWI) or the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) with selected courses in animal husbandry
• A Diploma as obtained from the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Agriculture and Forestry (ECIAF) in Agriculture or Animal Health Production and Veterinary Public Health will be an asset
• Work experience in the poultry industry is desired
• Ability to perform bird autopsy will be an asset
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word

• A reliable motor vehicle
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• The nature of the job requires flexibility, and the candidate must be willing to travel to remote farming districts in Trinidad and Tobago in order to fulfill the principal tasks and responsibilities
