PLUMBING TECHNICIAN

We are looking for a dynamic Plumbing Technician to join our Maintenance Team.

Job Function:

The Plumbing Technician will primarily be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal in residential, commercial (i.e. Mario’s and Rib Shack Restaurants) and industrial (Head Office) buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and components

• Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials (if info available)
• Identify required tools and special equipment
• Select the type and size of pipe required
• Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures
• Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment
• Assemble and install valves and fittings
• Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls
• Install, repair and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems
• Install, repair and maintain sinks and toilets
• Install, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners
• Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim
• Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks

Maintain all building codes, installation requirements and relevant legislation

•  Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
• Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer are met
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements

Administer and schedule work

• Prepare orders of supplies
• Keep daily reports (Job Cards)
• Schedule work in cooperation with Restaurants due to the nature of the industry

 Perform other maintenance-related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience

1. Certification in Plumbing (Diploma Level)
2. Certification in Health and Safety
3. 3-5 years experience in related field
4. Class 3 Driver’s License
