Optical Service Representative

We are hiring a target-driven individual to handle customer sales, support the clinical team, address customer queries, assist with frame selection, process payments, and maintain merchandising standards to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Close sales on spectacles, sunglasses and accessories using a variety of selling techniques such as cross selling and utilizing relevant marketing literature and promotional displays to meet set sales targets while accurately processing customers’ payments and escalating any outstanding or incomplete sales transactions.
• Collaborate continuously with the Optical Dispenser on new sales techniques and strategies in order to capitalise on new sales opportunities.
• Maintain patient management system ensuring accurate entry of personal information on physical and electronic files.
• Assist patients with selection of eyewear, ensuring good fit and accurate prescription while explaining usage requirements and appropriate optical care techniques, where required preparing orders and following up on order pick-ups.
• Offer all payment options to customers, clearly explaining the terms and conditions of credit contracts; ensuring all related documentation and booking procedures are accurately and thoroughly completed.
• Perform administrative duties such as filing, answering calls, managing appointments, completing various schedules, counting stock and receiving merchandise in according with set standard.
• Perform any other related duties as delegated from time to time by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with figures quickly and accurately and must have a legible handwriting.
• Working knowledge of prescriptions and basic optical terminologies.
• Excellent understanding of all products, services, and optical treatments.
• Honest with a high level of integrity.

• Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition when dealing with customers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• A minimum of five (5) CXCs, including Mathematics and English.
• Proven sales experience in a target-driven environment, with strong prospecting and closing skills.
• Enthusiastic and results-oriented approach to sales.
• Previous experience working in a retail setting is an asset.
