Operator I - Transfilling

SUMMARY OF JOB: 

Perform chlorine transfilling operations in compliance with Chlorine Institute procedures and ANSA McAL Group policies and standards, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to environmental regulations. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Inspect, clean, and recondition chlorine cylinders/containers daily, ensuring compliance with  Chlorine Institute standards for safety and quality. 
• Perform monthly checks of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (S.C.B.A.) to ensure availability, functionality, and serviceability. 
• Conduct routine tests on cylinder/container valves, reinstall them when necessary, and ensure all components meet operational safety requirements. 
• Transfill chlorine into cylinders/containers weekly, strictly following Chlorine Institute procedures to ensure accuracy and safety. 
• Load and unload chlorine cylinders and 1-ton containers into shipping containers monthly, ensuring proper handling and storage practices. 
• Respond promptly and effectively to internal and external emergencies in accordance with Chlorine Institute guidelines and company protocols. 
• Monitor relevant plant areas daily to detect and address any chlorine leaks, maintaining operational and environmental safety. 
• Perform any other duties as required to support plant operations and achieve organizational objectives. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• 3 CXC O’ Levels
• Basic literacy and numeric skills 
• Valid Forklift license  
• Successful completion of at least three (3) months working experience as a Trainee Operator
• Ability to function as part of a team 
• Ability to communicate effectively 
• Knowledge of chlorine safety practices 
• Physical dexterity 

RATE: $28.71 per hour
