Job Summary
The Operations Manager will play a critical role in optimizing resource utilization and managing both personnel and equipment to ensure efficient and seamless production operations. This role involves coordinating with full-time staff and freelancers, planning resource allocation, and managing equipment to deliver high-quality events on time and within budget. Reporting to the executive team, the ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with expertise in logistics, event production, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Resource Allocation: Oversee and coordinate the scheduling and assignment of full-time staff and freelancers, ensuring efficient use of personnel based on project needs and availability.
- Equipment Management: Manage the inventory and deployment of all AV equipment, ensuring equipment readiness and optimal utilization across events.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with the production team to plan and execute events, ensuring technical and resource requirements (video, audio, lighting, staging) meet client specifications and safety standards.
- Budget and Cost Control: Develop and monitor project budgets, optimizing the use of resources to control costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead, support, and mentor a team of technicians, creating a positive and productive work environment while overseeing senior technicians in on-site leadership roles.
- Vendor and Client Relationship Management: Collaborate with clients and external vendors to understand requirements, manage expectations, and ensure smooth project execution.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess operational processes to identify areas for improvement, streamline workflows, and enhance resource efficiency.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all operational activities comply with safety regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in operations or project management within event production or AV services.
- Proven experience in resource planning, including scheduling and coordinating personnel and equipment for events.
- Strong understanding of AV equipment, event logistics, and technical production processes.
- Excellent budgeting and financial management skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a collaborative approach to team management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving project requirements.
