LIAT (2020) Limited is in search of a detail and service-oriented Manager, to manage the coordination of Flight Operations and maintain the crewing requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement within the Operations Control Center.
  • Control the Company’s Schedule and manage all clerical supply functions within the Flight Operations Department.
  • Oversee the efficient operation of Operations Control in close co-operation with other relevant Departments to achieve scheduled aircraft operations.
  • Ensure that the Flight Operations Officer Manual (Operations Manual Vol. 5) is kept up to date by inclusion of amendments, revisions and new procedures as required.
  • Ensure that all restrictions to LIAT20’s operations contained in the Operations Specifications applicable to the approved area of operation are promptly and clearly communicated to Flight Operations Officers and listed on the Aircraft Allocation Board in the Operations Control office, with particular attention to specific aircraft and city pairs approved therein.
  • In the event of an emergency, comply with the company’s Emergency Response Plan ensuring activation of the callout list and procedures contained in the Station Emergency Procedures Manual are implemented.
  • Monitor the Flight Operations Officer training programme to ensure that it remains relevant to current requirements and Flight Operations Officers are adequately trained, remain current and available for the conduct of scheduled operations; ensure that mandatory State training and checking requirements for all Flight Crew are fulfilled in a cost-effective manner, records are current, and checks are maintained.
  • Ensure that Flight Crew productivity is maximized through the effective management and direction of Flight Crew Deployment, Coordination, Training, Scheduling and Control functions and there are sufficient qualified Flight Crew to satisfy all potential commercial options in a cost-effective manner.
  • Provide the necessary trained clerical support personnel for the administrative needs of the Department including arrangements for accommodation, the ordering and care of office equipment, the security of computer data and fire and hurricane precautions.
  • Comply with the relevant manuals, particularly the Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Perform such other duties as may be reasonably required as commensurate with the position.

 Required Core Competencies, Experience, and qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent qualification.
  • Must have successfully completed an approved Flight Dispatch training course and maintain qualification as a Flight Operations Officer.
  • Minimum 4 years relevant work experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven track record for decisive action backed by continuous improvement, analytical thinking, goal-directed leadership and service-oriented performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse learners.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Able to consistently manage both controlled and uncontrolled environments while making informed strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Commitment to continued training and development.
