This role will provide day-to-day monitoring to eliminate hazardous activities. Develops policies to promote occupational health and safety (OSH) awareness. Focuses on prevention and needs to be diligent and analytical. Supports the creation of a healthy and safe workplace.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that best practices and policies are being enforced.
- Ensure emergency plan is in place.
- Ensure all teams are trained on emergency procedures.
- Ensure all team members using PPEs are trained how to use.
- Ensure all team members have the correct PPEs issued to them.
- Ensure hurricane supply for food and security equipment are in place.
- Ensure hurricane training is coordinated and completed.
- Ensure evacuation training is coordinated and completed.
- Ensure all brigades are in place.
- Ensure search and rescue training is coordinated and completed.
- Ensure fire training and certification is coordinated and completed.
- Ensure that profiles are kept of all certifications and trainings with evidence and logs of all PPE's
- Ensure fire extinguishers and checked and serviced.
- Ensure chemical trainings are completed.
- All signage and evacuation routes in place.
- Ensure CPR to include Pediatric training is completed.
- Accident Prevention Training and Control
- Conduct Risk Analysis
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Hospitality experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Team player with proven track record of leading initiatives.
- Proven experience as safety coordinator or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of OSH guidelines and practices.
- Experience in reporting and developing policies.
- Experience in implementing OSH training programs.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Excellent communication and advisory skills.
- Diligent with an analytical mind.
ACADEMIC LEVEL AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or similar degree
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in position or similar role
