The Nurse is responsible for creating and maintaining a health care programme and to provide basic health care to enhance the wellness of trainees, staff and guests.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
ü NVQ-J Level 5 Certification or equivalent and the designation of Registered Nurse by the Nursing Council of Jamaica
ü At least three (3) year’s relevant work experience in a comparable position or business/work environment such as an industrial operation, an education institution, a major health centre or a hospital
KEY COMPETENCIES:
ü Excellent Human Relations and Interpersonal skills
ü Good Counselling skills/techniques
ü Knowledge of Ministry of Health Policies
ü Knowledge of the management of Medical Emergencies
ü Ability to maintain confidentiality
KEY DUTIES:
ü Follows occupational health and safety practices
ü Follows environmental work practices
ü Facilitates counselling relationships
ü Applies conflict resolution strategies
ü Conducts health and safety training
ü Conducts hygiene and performance investigation
ü Implements health education programmes
ü Monitors and manages sick bay
ü Monitors hygiene and sanitation performance
ü Maintains the procurement and storage of pharmaceutical products
ü Manages record systems
ü Provides first aid
ü Prepares reports
ü Plans and manages Workplace Health & Safety meetings
