Nautical Development Manager

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Nautical Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of all aspects of marketing and development of the nautical tourism product.

Job Type: Fixed Term

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the execution of marketing strategies that align with GTA goals, specifically relating to advertising campaigns and promotions for the nautical tourism sector.
  • Uses market research to identify visitors’ needs and preferences and presents new ideas/opportunities to the senior team.
  • Develops a nautical business plan and implements and maintains an effective system of project management, evaluation, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Advises on the development of product offerings related to nautical tourism, and reviews and advises on the overall development of the nautical tourism sector.
  • Prepares and provides timely reports to the senior team informing them of the progress and outcome of all nautical tourism marketing projects.
  • Contributes to the development of industry guidelines and service standards for nautical tourism and the implementation, oversight and adherence of same.
  • Facilitates and coordinates training programmes in collaboration with stakeholders and provides technical assistance to the sector as necessary.

 

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Marketing or any other related field.
  • Five years’ managerial experience in a similar role working with a cross-functional team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a preference for achieving goals and creating efficiencies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
  • An open mind to adapt to timely strategic changes
  • Ability to develop creative ideas and capitalise on opportunities.
  • Experience working in the tourism industry is an asset.
  • Flexible availability to work long hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays
