SALARY SCALE: $ 3,350,847.20 - $ 4,020,883.33 per annum
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Port Authority’s computer networks including the intranet, extranet, local area (LAN), wide area (WAN) and global area (GAN) networks and voice communication system (VCS). Scope of responsibilities includes data protection, troubleshooting, general user support and backup media storage.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- BSc. in Computer Science, or equivalent qualification
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification
- CompTIA networking certifications would be an asset
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar capacity
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- LAN, WAN, GAN, proxy servers, application transport and network infrastructure protocols (IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Network design, implementation, troubleshooting, hardware configuration, network performance tuning
- WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, controllers, network infrastructure, network hardware
- Computer hardware, software, Unix, Linux, Citrix, Oracle, SQL and SQL Plus
- Network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)
- Programming (HTML, Visual Basic), spreadsheets and word processing
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, configure, install, test, and maintain all networks, applications, software including virus protection, email applications and hardware.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software and network/ systems issues and outages.
- Plan, implement and coordinate security measures to protect the Authority’s data, software, and hardware.
- Create, maintain, and document accurate network diagrams and schemas for all existing systems (servers OS version, IP Addresses, locations), processes and network communication systems.
- Test security measures (such as access authentication, disaster recovery) to schedule upgrades, set up firewalls and troubleshoot problems as needed.
- Periodically inspect network systems and infrastructure at locations island wide.
- Work closely with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the phone and network systems remain operational.
- Maintain and observe patch management procedures, service pack testing and systems/software roll outs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and adhere to the cleaning schedule of ICT equipment.
