Massy Wood is currently recruiting for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the execution of the maintenance activities. He/she ensures that work is carried out efficiently and safely in compliance with the company’s technical policies and procedures and HSSE standards and is also responsible for assuring the quality of every job and activity performed.

 Technical

  • Support the operations in ensuring that the electrical distribution system is maintained in a safe and reliable working condition, operated within the design parameters, and complies with Client and Massy Wood procedures and legislation.
  • Execute the work packages assigned according to plan, ensuring work is completed satisfactorily, in a safe and efficient manner and recorded on the planned maintenance history records.
  • Effective and timely maintenance of all relevant electrical equipment.
  • Responsible for the safe isolation and return to operations of electrical equipment.
  • Assess and implement safety requirements for all Electrical activities dependent on voltage level.
  • Participate actively in the reviewing of the Equipment Specific Maintenance Programme (ESMP) in order to improve the maintenance plan.
  • Report any failure, sub-standard conditions, or incidents affecting electrical equipment, production or property of the Client to the bpTT Team Leader.
  • Carry out emergency response duties as required.
  • Provide valid, accurate and up to date information for the Computerized Maintenance Management System, through detailed documentation of Work Orders.
  • Identify all consumables and spares for the discipline and monitor quantity levels and adequate storage conditions.
  • Assess effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
  • Ensure a safe place of work by complying with safety standards such as NFPA 70E; NFPA 70B; NEC; NESC as well as Permit to Work (PTW) system and safe working procedure(s), in accordance with bpTT’s Control of Work (COW) standards.
  • Ensure adherence to bpTT’s Management of Change (MOC) procedures and safety standard
  • Perform all other related job functions as required.
  • Compliance with Competency assurance assessment requirement.
  • Effective and timely maintenance of all relevant electrical equipment.
  • Effective troubleshooting and resolution of problems affecting electrical equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting Technical Drawings and Layouts.
  • Prepare and organize the work packages for planned and unplanned work.
  • Full compliance with Massy Wood Group's – HSSE Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform all other related job functions as required.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Technician’s Diploma (EEET) or equivalent certification in a related area of study and/or four (4) to five (5) years Oil & Gas experience.
  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET).
  • Certified as Performing Authority by competent authority.
  • OSHA/ bpTT’s Control of Work (COW) mandatory training.
  • Excellent level of troubleshooting and operations knowledge.
  • A minimum of four (4) years Oil & Gas experience.
  • Electrical experience dealing with a variety of electrical equipment for the Oil and Gas industry e.g.: MCC, batteries, transformers, electrical motors, UPS system, distribution panel, switchgear, charger system, motorized valve, control panels, emergency generator, lighting system, grounding system, VFD/VSD system.
  • Ability to manage the Spares and Maintenance manuals.
  • Proficient with CBM techniques utilized by the Company.
  • Must be a good communicator, and self-motivated team player.
Instrumentation Technician

The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the execution of the maintenance activities.  He/she ensures that work is carried out efficiently and safely in compliance with the company’s technical policies and procedures and HSSE standards and is also responsible for assuring the quality of every job and activity performed.

 

Technical

  • To support the maintenance team in performing planned maintenance work in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with approved standards, processes and documentation.
  • Actively participate in the reviewing of the Equipment Specific Maintenance Programme (ESMP) in order to improve the instruments maintenance plan.
  • Ensure the product metering system is maintained and operated within design parameters and fulfils the Fiscal requirements.
  • Execute the work packages assigned according to plan, ensuring work is completed satisfactorily, in a safe and efficient manner and recorded on the planned maintenance history records.
  • Report any failure, sub-standard conditions, or incidents affecting instrumentation equipment, production or property of the Client to bpTT Maintenance the Team Leader.
  • Carry out emergency response duties as required.
