Membership Manager

LOCATION:  Port of Spain

DEPARTMENT:  Member Experience

REPORTS TO:

  • Club Manager
  • Regional Marketing & Membership Manager or Marketing Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:  Primarily responsible for recruiting new members, and retaining existing ones. Develop and lead membership drives, plan membership events, and create and implement outreach strategies in order to expand membership base or engage with existing members.

Developing and driving a strong collaborative relationship with the sales, marketing, and operations departments

Implementing marketing processes and automation to increase membership acquisition and retention

AS A MANAGER/SUPERVISOR AND EMPLOYEE OF PRICESMART, THE INCUMBENT OF THIS POSITION HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY TO:

  • Enforce and Adhere to PriceSmart’s Code of Conduct and Company Ethics at all times as well as all other documented policies and procedures which include but are not limited to membership, prevention and safety, and asset protection

REQUIREMENTS: 

(Minimum required education and/or formal training, knowledge, skills, experience)

  • Bachelor's degree or an associate's degree in marketing, education, business, communications, or a related field
  • Experience in sales management, leadership, customer service, marketing campaigns, and data analysis
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in a management role, preferably in the retail environment. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, as well as strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Commitment to continuous education
  • Reliable transportation required.

 

 

OTHER TASKS:

  • Achieving growth and hitting sales targets by successfully managing the membership team
  • Designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence
  • Communicate, encourage and track monthly goals and follow-up in compliance with the staff incentive program.
  • Recruiting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives
  • Presenting sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Identifying emerging trends and market shifts while being aware of new products and competition status
  • Tracking and analyzing membership statistics based on key quantitative metrics
  • Preparing membership budgets and projections and approving expenditures
  • Developing and implementing a membership strategy to achieve organizational goals and revenues
  • Setting individual membership targets with the sales team
  • Coordinating membership action plans for external sales
  • Providing on-the-ground support for sales team as they generate leads and close pipeline opportunities
  • Promoting and acquiring new memberships through direct business-to-business contact or referrals
  • Ensuring the sales team has the necessary resources to perform properly
  • Providing professional development and training for their teams
