Eastern Credit Unionemerged from an amalgamation of Bermudez Employees Credit Union which was founded in April 1973 and Aranguez Estate Credit Union which was established in August 1973. The merger took place on January 30, 1975 and the Credit Union has since then expanded its services by way of 9 branches located throughout Trinidad.
With total assets surpassing $1 billion, a loan portfolio of over $900 million and a membership base in excess of 145,000, Eastern Credit Union now ranks as one of the leading Credit Unions in Trinidad and Tobago and one of the largest financial co-operatives in the Caribbean.
Eastern’s vast product offerings include its equity Share Savings Instrument, the Jewel Product, Certificates of Deposits, relatively low-cost loans for provident and productive purposes, Bureau de Charge Service, Western Union Money Transfer Service and its ATM LINX Service, making it the first Credit Union to join the InfoLink Network.
