We are on the lookout for a proactive and dedicated Medical Secretary to become a vital part of our thriving medical/surgical practice, known for its commitment to excellence and substantial growth opportunities. This full-time role is the heartbeat of patient interaction and serves as the crucial link between our patients and our dedicated team of Doctors and Nurses.

 

As the first point of contact, our Medical Secretary plays a pivotal role in shaping the patient experience, managing all patient-facing duties with efficiency. Your duties include overseeing the seamless flow of daily operations, ensuring every patient feels valued and cared for.

Responsibilities of Position

  • Welcoming patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries
  • Scheduling all appointments and maintaining scheduling system
  • Entering services and charges in appropriate software programs
  • Managing multiple physicians’ schedule
  • Assembling and filing patients’ charts
  • Typing medical reports
  • Receiving payments and providing receipts
  • Reconciling payments received in the company’s medical software program
  • Preparing end of day reports
  • Creating a comforting environment for patients
  • Maintaining and balancing petty cash

Applicant must:

  • Be an energetic and fast learner able to function in a fast paced environment
  • Possess the ability to multitask whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Be professional and proactive

Qualifications and experience required:

  • An Associate's Degree in Medical Administration or a related field
  • Experience in Secretarial and Receptionist duties
  • Medical and electronic health record experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite including Excel and Word
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal, typing and writing skills
