Platinum Motors is currently seeking an experience Mechanical Workflow Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical projects and maintenance activities.

To ensures workflows are efficient, resources are properly allocated, and safety and quality standards are met.

Education and Required Skills

  • An Associate Degree in Business Studies or a related field, or a minimum of five (5) CXC passes at General Proficiency, including English Language and Mathematics
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the specified duties and responsibilities, including customer service management and leadership roles
  • Sound knowledge of vehicles and automotive parts
  • Detail and goal-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to supervise staff effectively and manage basic Human Resources tasks, including performance monitoring, conflict resolution, and staff development
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
  • Valid Barbados Driver’s License

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee, plan, and coordinate servicing and maintenance operations, managing project resources to ensure adherence to time, cost, quality, safety, and environmental objectives.
  • Manage the scheduling and job allocation for Mechanical Technicians within the Workshop Management System, ensuring efficient task assignment and accurate job records.
  • Ensure repairs are completed on time and within budget.
  • Offer continuous advice, direction, and regular feedback to the mechanical and service reception teams, ensuring high levels of morale and performance.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment by addressing challenges, recognizing achievements, and encouraging skill development and teamwork
  • Oversee the coordination and sourcing of parts from third-party suppliers to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
  • Identify when additional technical or mechanical support is needed to assist workshop personnel in resolving complex mechanical, electrical, diagnostic, and hydraulic issues
  • Oversee the effective delivery of mechanical services by managing communication, liaison, negotiation, and coordination with both internal and external clients to maintain strong client relationships
  • Oversee and collaborate with workshop, parts, and service reception staff to ensure the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for major mechanical repairs and projects
  • Provide guidance on resource allocation, productivity, and work methods to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures at all times
  • Generate and present regular performance reports on staff and workshop operations as requested by management
