The Mechanic Technician I supports the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator and Mechanic Technician II in maintaining the firm's fleet of vehicles
PURPOSE OF JOB
The Mechanic Technician I supports the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator and Mechanic Technician II in maintaining the firm's fleet of vehicles. This role ensures the fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance. The Mechanic Technician I will assist with routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs while adhering to company policies and safety standards.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To contribute to the high availability of the Fleet of Vehicles for the transport of Petrochemical Products, through the timely and efficient mechanical repairs and maintenance of the vehicles.
• Through continuous learning, to keep abreast of changing technologies in vehicles used for the transport of Petrochemical Products, and the associated maintenance requirements.
• To ensure proper handling and care of the set of tools, equipment, and spare parts for the maintenance of the Company's fleet of vehicles.
• To contribute to ensuring an organized, tidy, and well-maintained space for maintenance of the Company's fleet.
• Perform maintenance on the fleet of vehicles by the preventative maintenance schedule for each vehicle.
• Comply with and supporting the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policies, Procedures and Programmes and any other applicable legislation and standards.
• Recognize and understand the health and safety risk associated with assigned job tasks.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• A diploma or certification in Auto mechanics, Automotive Services, Autotronics, Electronics and/or Automotive Repairs will be an asset.
• A minimum of three (3) O'Levels including Mathematics and English.
• A minimum of three (3) years' experience in vehicle maintenance, with at least two (2) years' in the maintenance of light and extra heavy trucks and Road Tank Wagons (RTWs).
• Knowledge of the local regulations, in particular the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, as evidenced by possession of a valid Trinidad and Tobago Driver's Permit.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office will be an asset.
