Marketing Officer

POSITION TITLE: Marketing  Officer

DEPARTMENT: Sales & Marketing Department

REPORTS TO: Director – Sales & Marketing

ROLE:  A Marketing Officer creates pricing strategies based on demand for the services or products being advertised. They also perform sales data analysis to determine the effectiveness of the advertising strategies put into place. Using data visualisation tools to make presentations clearly and understandably for each deliverable.

WORK CONTEXT: Most work activity occurs indoors and outdoors, with structured work tasks in a computerized environment. The incumbent must have an excellent grasp of the marketing strategies based on the group lines of products and services.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Strategic Planning

  1. Assist with budget planning by liaising with each department and associated company to understand their needs and objectives, obtain costing, and present a final expense report for the upcoming financial year.
  2. Assist in developing marketing strategies to meet the company’s strategic goals and objectives of increasing revenue and profits, achieving greater visibility, discouraging competitors or improving our appearance. It involves identifying the current situation, analysing its opportunities and threats, and mapping out the marketing action plans for implementation.

 

Communication

  1. Crafting compelling and relevant content for effective communication.
  2. Ensure communication of all information is in a clear and engaging manner to all stakeholders.
  3. Address customer concerns promptly and use the feedback to improve products and services.

 

Market Research

  1. Create detailed customer personas to understand the target audience by gathering data on demographics, behaviours, and preferences to tailor market strategies to the specific needs of the customer base and present data to the Management team.
  2. Provide competitor analysis feedback bi-monthly by regularly analysing their strategies, identifying areas of competitive advantage, and proposing ideas to differentiate our brand effectively.
  3. Maintain relevant trend identification for our industry by researching and identifying emerging technologies to ensure our group strategies are always current and relevant and successfully positioned for the groups’ future.

 

 

Brand Management

  1. Ensure the company’s branding, imagery, communication, logo etc. are coordinated consistently across various channels to ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints for building trust and recognition. Present guidelines and oversee the implementation process through success continuously.
  2. Build and enhance the group's brand equity by creating positive associations and emotional connections with the brand.  

 

Campaign Management

  1. Coordinate campaigns across various channels to ensure a unified brand experience within the company sales, financials, public relations and production deliverables.
  2. Set key performance indicators (KPI’s) by regularly monitoring campaign performance through data analysis with continuous improvement plans.

 

Digital Marketing

  1. Optimise our content search engines (SEO) to ensure our brand and company’s reputation are easily discoverable online, this can also involve managing paid search campaigns (SEM).
  2. Build strong social media strategies, create engaging content and leverage platforms to foster brand loyalty.
  3. Implement email and social media marketing automation tools to streamline communication efforts to all stakeholders.  

 

Budget Management

  1. Evaluate the Return on Investment for each marketing initiative (ROI) bi monthly. This entails assessing the cost effectiveness of campaigns and allocation of resources to strategies to yield the highest ROI.
  2. Coordinate with each department and associated company before the start of each month to establish marketing program and spend.
  3. Constantly track budgeted allocations with expenses keeping each manager informed of their current spend and any cost overruns which must be approved by the Director  Sales & Marketing and tied to measurable returns.

  • Communication - You must be able to communicate your thoughts clearly and be an excellent listener. Your ability to craft compelling and relevant content for written, verbal and visual communication to all stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and Innovation – Your ability embrace new technologies through continuous learning within the dynamic marketing landscape to integrate and align with the Group goals. 
  • Creativity - Coming up with a new approach to an old idea, or finding a way to attract new customers, Marketing Representatives are constantly required to be creative. If you can think outside the box and come up with ideas that others haven’t, you’ll be better able to make your clients happy. Creativity is the key to success in this industry.
  • Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing and promoting our products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Data Visualisation & Analysis – Must be excellent at communicating complex data effectively, as well as having excellent data analysis interpretation
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work towards set targets.
  • Company / Industry Knowledge. Good knowledge of the Company’s products and services and the industry in which we operate.

  • Oral & Written Expression — Excellent communication of information and ideas in speaking & writing so others will understand.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS

  • A Degree in Media Studies or Marketing.
  • Highly Computer and Software literate including Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and media platforms.
  • Experience in research and development or a technology related environment would be an asset to this role.
  • 3 years relevant marketing experience.
  • A solid and good reputable Social Network background.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • $15,000.00, other attractive company benefits offered
