West Indian Tobacco Trinidad y Tobago has an exciting opportunity for an Manufacturing/Operations Management Trainee in Port Of Spain

 

The Global Graduate will be given a unique opportunity to develop exceptional technical and leadership skills through supporting and sometimes leading the implementation and continuous improvement of The West Indian Tobacco Company Limited manufacturing operations.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

Business

  • Implement/establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes utilizing the Integrated Work System framework (IWS);
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive overall product and process improvements product integrity on existing products;
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure improvements or achievement of the annual operating plan
  • Assist with product transition plan from engineering to production, and analyze and evaluate methods of production and identify ways to improve them;
  • Communicate with departments in Operations and all levels of the organization to share ideas and gain feedback related to work processes;
  • Provide technical and planning support to Operations, and participate in new product design reviews, providing early identification of planning or manufacturability issues. Ensure compliance of policies, processes and procedures throughout the factory.
  • Lead or assist continuous improvement ;initiatives, and  promote problem solving tools usage and focused in a root cause failure analysis. Promote digital tool solutions to support Operations continuous improvement and data management ( e.g. Power Apps & Power BI etc).

People

  • Work effectively with all stakeholders whose activity has direct impact on the shift’s performance. Communicates well with all operators, technicians and contractors.
  • Coaching of Operators, Technicians on IWS methodology, department policies and procedures.

 

 

What are we looking for?

  • 1-3 years’ post-graduate experience
  • Knowledge of the Product and Specifications.
  • Good working knowledge of tobacco processing and technology. Computer literate
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Coaching and Teambuilding skills
  • Ability to coordinate activities to allow for efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Ability to analyze, identify gaps, and propose solutions. Ability in project management and systems planning and development.
  • University degree in Engineering, or any suitable related area
