POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for coordinating and organizing the activities of stores including the receival, storage and distribution and issuing of materials and equipment.

EDUCATION & SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES

The ideal candidate should possess:

1. Bachelors of Science degree in Management Studies; Economics, Operations                Management; Supply Chain Management or equivalent discipline.

1. Postgraduate training would be an advantage.

1. Training in Inventory Management.

1. Keen focus on safety.

1. Excellent human relations, negotiation and communication skills.

1. Sound administrative, organizational and supervisory skills.

 EXPERIENCE AND LEARNED DISCIPLINE

1. A minimum of five (5) years in a similar field.

1. Knowledge of the risks of obsolescence, damage due to mishandling, and damage due to inappropriate storage conditions.

1. Knowledge of JPSCo’s warehousing policies and procedures.

1. 4.        Knowledge of risks associated with inland transportation

ELEMENTS OF MAJOR DUTIES

1. Monitors/replenish inventory levels.

1. Coordinate accurate forecast from the User Departments

1. Develops and monitors department budget.

1. Develops performance standards for staff and conducts appraisals.

1. Monitors safety of compound in conjunction with safety team.

1. Arranges for statutory inspection of equipment to ensure fitness for use.

1. Schedules periodic external inspection of equipment to ensure fitness for use.

1. Prepares distribution schedules.

1. Arranges for trucks to be loaded/offloaded.

1. 10.  Maximizes inventory turns in area stores.

1. 11.   Monitors the issuing of materials.

1. 12.   Directs activities related to the distribution and storage of material and parts.

1. 13.   Oversees that goods are checked off against relevant documentations.
