Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Infrastructure & Technical Services team in the capacity of:

 

Manager – Technical Services

 

Provide oversight and resolution to hardware and software problems of all workstation endpoints and their associated peripherals.

Manage the execution of all major Technical Services projects.

Provide security administration for all workstation endpoints.

 

This role involves:

  1. Occasional travel offsite (to branch locations).
  2. Being on-call; occasional work outside of normal business hours (including weekends).
  3. Exposure to working conditions including lifting of equipment, dust and non-ergonomic working situations.

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Manager – Technical Services, you will:

 

  • Manage the executed configurations of all endpoints ensuring compliance according to established guidelines and requirements.
  • Manage the ticket assignment, update and closure execution by Technical Services.
  • Manage communication related escalated/time sensitive tickets/issues and the assigned resources.
  • Prepare and submit fixed asset related reports for all IT Items falling under Technical Services.
  • Prepare, review and justify the report for IT Hardware Budget submission for the Group.
  • Manage the configuration of ABMs and point-of-sale terminals.
  • Maintain all systems efficiently to assist with the unit’s day to day operations, which includes BitLocker Encryption, Enterprise Endpoint, Application File Share and Print Services Management.
  • Provide feedback on the training needs for office automation.
  • Uphold the company’s policy guidelines and recommend new and improved guidelines to ensure compatibility and better service to PC users.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualifications would be an asset.
  • Computer Technician certification/ diploma or demonstrable comprehensive working knowledge of:
    • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Security+.
    • ITIL Foundation.
  • At least eleven (11) years’ working experience supporting networked workstations and personal computing applications.
  • At least five (5) years’ working experience in the preparation and submission of the IT hardware budget for an organization.
  • Ability to coordinate technical services related projects with internal personnel and external vendors.
  • Proven ability to correctly diagnose hardware and software problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of the hardware, software, application and integration of communication equipment, inclusive of modems, hubs and cabling plants and networking systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the data processing and network operating environments.
  • Ability to review and optimize existing configuration execution in accordance with current practices and industry standards.
  • Effective human relations skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
