OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE 

  • Oversees the development, implementation and alignment of human resource policies, programs and services, including workforce planning, employee relations, employment practices, compensation and benefits, recruitment and orientation; training and development, retention, legal compliance and procedures and employee communications.
  • Engages in the strategic planning process by supporting the execution of business unit strategies and plans through the implementation of human resource strategies and solutions that support short and long-term business objectives.
  • Selects, develops, evaluates, and leads a corporate team of professionals with a goal of earning a high level of credibility as an effective and responsive resource across the company. 
  • Strives to foster a corporate environment consistent with the values and mission of the organisation. 

FUNCTIONS

  • Delivers a robust People Development strategic sustainability plan for increased synergies, leveraging of employees’ potential and business continuity within the company.
  • Engages in the strategic planning process by supporting the execution of the Company’s and business unit strategies and plans through the implementation of people development strategies and solutions that support short, medium, and long-term business objectives.
  • Directs and continually updates the Company’s organisation design and structure in accordance with business objectives, strategy, processes, and operations to satisfy the needs of the business.
  • Develops the Company’s workforce plan by monitoring divisional business unit’s strategy to ensure optimal resourcing levels with the right complement of skillsets to achieve business results.
  • Directs the strategic recruitment and selection functions and ensures that the right combination of assessment tools result in recruitment of best fit candidates that meet and exceed the qualification, experience, and competency criteria.
  • Conducts environmental scans and organisational health analysis to identify and monitor employee experience and engagement trends and issues affecting the workforce.
  • Develops and implements approved organisational interventions that fosters a harmonious corporate environment and sustainable cultural change that embraces diversity and is consistent with the values and mission of the Company.
  • Leads and develops, a team of people leaders and professionals with the goal of earning a high level of credibility as an effective and responsive internal consulting division.
  • Aligns talent development initiatives and plans to the business strategy with the ability to connect talent investment with business results.
  • Oversees NGC’s industrial relations and people resolution process to ensure alignment with local and international labour laws and good industrial relations practice. 
  • Pursues resolution of staff-related issues by promoting grievance handling and mediation toward a strong and harmonious employee relations culture.
  • Leads initiatives aimed at improving the leadership and management capabilities of managers, supervisors and employees at all levels within the organisation and drives the succession planning agenda.
  • Develops programs and initiatives to ensure alignment of all human resource information systems (HRIS) and technologies to the strategic direction of the organisation.
  • Oversees the management of total rewards program aligned to the Group with job analysis and job evaluation outcomes in accordance with the staffing budget. Ensures regulatory compliance and competitive salary levels.
  • Oversees benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness.
  • Directs the administration of appropriate policies, practices, and processes in compliance with local legislation relating to compensation and benefits to minimize all risk exposures to the organization.
  • Directs the implementation and promotion of wellness programs and initiatives that support employees' physical, mental, work-life balance and emotional health that contributes to NGC’s philosophy of employee wellbeing.
  • Oversees the performance management system, monitors group-wide performance evaluation programs, and revises as necessary to ensure current and leading practice standards are achieved.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; inclusive of communication of the Employee Handbook on policies and procedures for the organisation.
  • Oversees the continuous monitoring of management practices across the group to ensure uniformity and compliance with employment laws locally and all territories in which the group operates.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of people management analytics through effective use of technology and drives a team of professionals in reporting on people metrics to aid in effective decision making.
  • Prepares the organisation’s human resource management and ad hoc reports. Submits to relevant stakeholders in accordance with set time frames.
  • Collaborates with the Corporate Communications Division within the organisation, as it relates to employee engagement and development of communication plans.
  • Collaborates with Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Divisions within the Group, as it relates to employees’ Health and wellbeing.
  • Executes any other related duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The minimum requirements for the position are:

  • BSc. Human Resource Management or relevant degree program
  • MSc Human Resource Management, Talent Management, Organisation Behaviour or MBA
  • SHRM Certification will be an asset
  • OR a combination of suitable qualifications and experience.
  • Seven (7) years human resource management experience in the oil and gas industry, five (5) of which should be at the leadership level. 

OR 

  • Master’s in Human Resources, Organisation Behaviour, Talent Management or equivalent Post Graduate certification.
  • Ten (10) years related experience in Human Resources in the energy industry of which seven (7) years must be at a leadership level.
