Manager, Overseas & Commercial Offices is responsible for driving trade and economic promotion; developing trade services and developing contacts and alliances with local and international trade organisations.

Manager, Overseas & Commercial Offices is responsible for driving trade and economic promotion; developing trade services and developing contacts and alliances with local and international trade organisations. The incumbent is also responsible for collating and disseminating relevant market and trade information through collaborating with other Commercial Attache’s internationally to strengthen best practice, knowledge management and innovation on trade and investment promotions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Management, Social Sciences or related field from a recognised University  

  • 5-6 years' experience in managing international trade programs

  • Experience with trading practices and trading agreements between Trinidad and Tobago and international trading partners  

  • Experience in the trade and investment landscape locally and internationally

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manages the identification, development and promotion of trade opportunities

  • Develops recommedations to inform and support strategic trade policy and international trade initiatives

  • Analyzes international trade trends for potential new markets and business opportunities

  • Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders

  • Produces status reports on trade proposals and opportunities

  • Develops trade services and assist local companies in their trading development by organizing trade missions, visits and individual meetings

  • Conducts trade negotiations and liaise with relevant business associations and trading institutions

  • Supports human resource management by participating in the performance management and disciplinary processes
