OVERVIEW:

KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named “Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)” operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide back-office support to its member firm KPMG United States (“the Client”).

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Science Manager supports the data science function by creating the pipelines, tables, and transformations necessary for various advanced analytics initiatives. Your primary role is to develop data analytics solutions primarily using machine learning, natural language processing, advanced storytelling with visual analytics, and other advanced analytics initiatives. Your role is part of the Data Science Center of Excellence (CoE), which implements data science projects and initiatives across KPMG-US using standardized cloud-enabled technology, languages, and standardized/repeatable processes. Routinely, you will assist the business with answering challenging data questions, evaluating hypotheses, and accelerating data science solutions across the firm.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience implementing data science initiatives in a cloud-enabled ecosystem with pre-configured analytical tools.  Mastery of data mining/wrangling techniques, exceptional understanding of Machine Learning and Machine Learning algorithms, skillful in several coding languages (Python, SQL, Spark, R, etc…), and enabling low-barrier access to models and outcomes for the stakeholders.
• A degree in Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or other related quantitative field(s)—At least 2 years in progressive data science roles and responsibilities
