OVERVIEW:

KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named “Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)” operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide back-office support to its member firm KPMG United States (“the Client”). 

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Manager of Data Analysis is responsible for ensuring accuracy and quality in data and presenting data in such ways that assist with the decision-making process. This role is part of the Global Data Strategy & Operations team and is responsible for data onboarding, data analysis, and data validation. You will be working closely with the development team and data consumers on delivering data-related projects as well as providing operational support. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in Data, and work with stakeholders to develop solutions business and technical requirements.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery 

  • Data sourcing activities including documenting data interfaces, analyzing and interpreting data, and assistance with data modeling.
  • Ability to develop business and technical requirement documents
  • Document complex data mappings
  • Design and execute Data Quality checks
  • Assist with project management and tracking; regular meetings with PMs and developers, create test plans, project plans, implementation plans and track project through SDLC life cycle
  • Working with developers to assure specifications are understood and followed
  • Supporting quality assurance and user acceptance testing
  • Provide postproduction support for both maintenance and enhancement solutions
  • Ability to communicate technically complex IT concepts to business clients. Ability to multi-task easily and juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant work and project management experience. 
  • Bachelor's degree in an applied quantitative discipline (Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics) from an accredited college or university with experience involving data analysis, modeling and design is preferred
  • Data Warehouse or Business Intelligence experience including strong SQL skills to query SQL databases, experience with data sourcing, data integration and data quality projects; Experience with Data analysis tools like Alteryx is a plus. Experience with Salesforce Sales and/or Marketing cloud is a plus. 
  • Experience in data integration and data quality projects. Expertise in SDLC full project life cycle. Experience with Data sourcing, documenting complex data mappings. Experience with data migrations between applications is a plus
  • Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, analytical and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork. Ability to positively influence, mentor and be a credible source of knowledge to less experienced team members
  • Ability to work with the business to understand available resources and constraints around data (sources, integrity, and definitions), processing platforms, and security; provide assistance, and resolve problems, using solid problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities
  • May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays
