Job Summary / Primary Role Objective:
The Manager, CreditRiskwill be responsible for the design, implementation and execution of the credit risk management framework and supporting processes across the Group of Companies.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, strategic thinking, interpersonal and communication skills, with expertise inmanaging credit in a financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Risk Management and Oversight:
Analyze credit oversight strategies, credit structuring, reporting, and loan portfolios to evaluate credit quality and adherence to standards
Ensure integration within internal practice and procedures of key requirements as outlined in regulatory guidance
Collaborate with business line heads to ensure effective governance and control over credit risks
Lead team in the performance of risk assessments on credit proposals
Assess credit risk profiles and maintain alignment with risk appetite
Develop and implement mechanisms to measure, monitor, and report credit risks
Monitor delinquency and loss levels and recommend appropriate actions
Lead key activities surrounding credit risk stress testing
Develop and execute activities for Independent Review of credit risk
Team Management and Leadership
Organize and structure team in credit analysis and oversight
Manage, supervise, mentor, coach, train, plan work, and coordinate credit team members
Appraise credit risk team members bi-annually and continually manage employee talent and performance
Communication and Reporting
Assist the Chief Risk and Compliance Officerin creating an effective communication strategy
Develop and maintain KPI reporting and analyses to strengthen oversight of credit risk
Prepare credit reports and other reports to management as required
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance or Management or a related field.
Professional certification in risk management (RIMS) or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing credit risk within a financial environment
Master of Business Administration would be an asset.
