MANAGER CASH AND BANKING – TREASURY AND VENDOR MANAGEMENT -FINANCE

JOB SUMMARYJOB PURPOSE

To efficiently manage the organisation’s financial resources related to cash, banking transactions and liquidity. Analyze and ensure assigned reconciliations are completed timely, manage and control TSTT’s Petty Cash System and printing of company cheques and process critical wire transfers. Establish processes and procedures to ensure that cash collected by the agents or dealers is deposited or transferred to the company's accounts and plan for the optimal use of and reinvestment strategies for its surplus cash.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Efficient management of cash, ensuring maximizing use of surplus cash. This includes management of both TTD and foreign currencies, as well as continuous liaising and negotiations with various banking institutions.
  • Responsible for receipt of funds and opening of new loan accounts; includes reflection and set-up of liability on the General Ledger and addition to the manual loan schedule.
  • Responsible and accountable for all Cash and Banking General Ledger entries, including receipt, review and sign-off on all relevant journals. Ensure all entries in the related General Ledgers are done in accordance with International Accounting Standards.
  • To prepare assigned reconciliations and schedules as per Financial Close timelines, ensuring all reconciling items are investigated and cleared timely. This includes bank reconciliations and Loan schedules.
  • To prepare routine required cash flows, along with ad hoc cash flows for review by Senior Manager and submission to relevant stakeholders which includes Executives, Directors, Shareholders, Bond Holders and relevant Ministries.
  • Ensure that cash collected by the agents or dealers are deposited or transferred to the company’s accounts in line with the company’s SLA.
  • To develop and improve mechanisms, policy and processes for all areas of responsibility.
  •  Work closely with the Vendor Management department to development monthly payment list and timing of payment based on cash flow forecast and available cash.
  • To confirm payments with bank personnel, ensure receipt of payments are received.
  • Responsible and accountable for approval of cheques to be printed, wire transfers and petty cash disbursements whilst ensuring all items are valid for payments based on the company’s controls.
  • Perform various required calculations inclusive of withholding taxes.
  •  Responsible for management of cash and banking related transactions and functions for new products under TSTT’s Emerging Services and Innovation department. Also ensure compliance with all procedures, policies and legal framework around these new products.
  •    To conduct analysis of assigned bank account balances for submission of related reports; provide recommendations to management based on the analysis of reports.
  • To monitor and report on expenditure for assigned areas of finance; analyze and investigate past results, perform variance analyses between budget and actual revenue and costs reported, and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual variance reports; To provide and complete inputs into the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • To consult and liaise with internal and external auditors to design policy for the management of the Company’s cash and the fraud investigation units of the organization as necessary.
  • Manage all aspects of employee performance and ensure adherence to all HR Industrial Relations policy and practices.
  • Ensures that all work is done in accordance with established safety practices and procedures.
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the Senior Manager, from time to time.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, or

ACCA, CIMA, CMA and/or equivalent will be considered an asset.

  • An MBA will be an asset.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Management of the Treasury Unit, Cash Management and Investment or in managing the Financial Accounting function of a medium to large organization, three (3) years of which entails management experience in a Telecom environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with Oracle-based accounting software systems.
