Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Treasury & Asset Management team in the capacity of:

Manager - Asset Management

Assist in achieving the strategic revenue objectives for Group Treasury and Asset Management with regards to Sagicor’s off-balance sheet funds under management.

Analyse specific investments to evaluate objectively from a market and financial standpoint to make appropriate recommendations.

Actively make investment decisions with regards to assets held in the portfolio within policy guidelines.

Location: Kingston

As a Manager, you will:

• Implement monthly strategic initiatives related to portfolios under management annually.
• Review, discuss and agree fund strategy.
• Participate in developing investment policies.
• Collaborate with analysts, conduct research, and make important investment decisions.
• Oversee the day-to-day management of funds.
• Manage assets in line with approved investment policy and regulatory limits.
• Liaise with Treasury Manager of the related funds and ensure that adequate cash balances are kept on hand to satisfy liquidity needs liabilities.
• Coordinate team resources to ensure adequate investment coverage for all portfolios and asset classes.
• Ensure that the funds operate effectively and meet performance, quality and customer care targets, as well as complying with industry standards.
• Review up-to-date reports for trustees and investors and all communication on portfolio performance for dissemination.
• Assist in preparation of Investment reports for board, and sub-committees based on reporting guidelines.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Successful completion of Jamaica Institute of Management Securities course.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ working experience in the financial services industry.
• At least two (2) years’ working experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge of financial products, business environment and financial tools/software.
• Ability to demonstrate project management skills to lead a team from multiple functional disciplines.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Ability to develop new insights into situations and apply creative and innovative solutions to make organizational improvements.
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to develop and sustain effective and cooperative working relationships.
• Strong negotiation skills.
