MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (REFRIGERATION)
CORE PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Chief Engineering and Maintenance, the Maintenance Technician (Refrigeration) will ensure the operation of machinery and all equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications and troubleshooting malfunctions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Locate sources of problems by observing air conditioning units, refrigerated containers and other refrigerated systems in operation, listening for problems using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
- .
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes hand and power tools examining form and texture of parts.
- Prepare refrigerated system maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing Information and trends.
- Aid Operations in running machines at standard speeds and centerline conditions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (focus on AC & Refrigeration) with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience
Or
HEART/NTVET Level 3 or 4 Certification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or HVAC Systems with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience
- Experience in refrigerated containers as well as split units
- Experience in the food industry would be an asset

- High level of professionalism and integrity
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Good interpersonal, organizing, planning and coordination skills
- Ability to work shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays
