We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician with expertise in repairing PLC machines, as well as strong electrical and instrumentation skills. The ideal candidate will perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical and electrical equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
Conduct skilled maintenance and repair work on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on assigned trade.
Operate tools and machinery such as saws, drill presses, hand tools, and power tools to carry out maintenance tasks.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders to perform maintenance activities efficiently.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including hot water heaters, boilers, refrigeration units, ice machines, and other equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
Inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems (0V–480V), including motors, transformers, breakers, relays, drives, and other components.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves, solenoids, and controls.
Install and configure PLC systems, diagnose hardware and software issues, and resolve technical problems.
Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, and packaging equipment.
Promote workplace safety by adhering to GMP standards and company policies.
Perform stocktaking duties and assist with maintaining accurate stock records.
Provide lateral support to other departments as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Tertiary training and qualifications in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
3 to 4 years of industrial electrical experience.
Strong knowledge of standard practices, tools, and safety precautions in the electrician trade.
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex electrical systems using tools like multimeters, refrigerant gauges, and hand tools.
Ability to estimate time and material requirements for tasks.
Comfortable working from ladders, elevated platforms, and confined spaces in a field service role.
