Summary of Duties:
LE-G2 Maintenance Attendant
Under the direction of the Property and Material Manager, the Maintenance Attendant performs general maintenance for all properties within the High Commission of Canada real estate portfolio. Performs specific work, such as painting, patching, assembly, installing, and or fixing furniture, walls, doors, cabinets, windows and equipment. Delivers furniture, appliances, materials and supplies. Changes light bulbs, filters, batteries and cleans vents, gutters, drains, water tanks, etc. Pressure washes exterior surfaces of buildings and grounds, provides escort to contractors performing works inside the chancery, OR and SQs. Assists other Maintenance Team colleagues and other members of the Property/Material Team in the performance of their duties. Performs other related duties.
LE-G3 Maintenance Technician
Under the direction of the Property and Material Manager, the Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repairs at all properties within the High Commission of Canada real estate portfolio. Performs specific work, such as plumbing, welding, masonry, electrical and carpentry tasks. Prepares and effects preventive maintenance program for assigned equipment and systems. Assists other Maintenance Team members in the performance of their duties. Provides escort of contractors and inspects their work to ensure compliance with manufacturers specifications and Canadian Safety Regulations. Performs other related duties.
Area of Selection:
Candidates must be legal residents or citizens of Trinidad and Tobago and must be legally eligible to work in Trinidad and Tobago, living within the vicinity of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

* “Basic knowledge” can mean the ability to use, select, and maintain safety gear and personal protective equipment used in plumbing and carpentry works; the ability to select, safely use, and maintain hand and power tools/equipment used in electrical, plumbing and carpentry works; the ability to identify types of wiring, electrical circuits, pipe, tube and tubing, etc., and describe their applications (e.g.: wire type, gage, pipe materials steel, plastic); the ability to identify various wood defects; basic knowledge of fire safety (e.g.: types of fires, classification of fire extinguishers, safe ladder usage etc.).
For LE-G3 position only:
* “Advanced knowledge” can mean the ability to read and interpret plumbing and carpentry blueprints, electrical schematics; assembling, installing, repairing, lighting and other household and office electrical components; cutting, assembling and installing pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g.: plumbing); installing and maintaining water supply systems; assembling, installation and repair of office furniture. Solid understanding of fire safety (e.g.: types of fires, classification of fire extinguishers, safe ladder usage etc.), as well as occupational health and safety practices.
