MIS Officer

Are you a tech-savvy professional with a passion for managing and optimizing information systems? This is a fast environment seeking a MIS Officer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience to join a team of developers deploying ai centric applications. Reliability is an essential element of this job.

Key Responsibilities

System Implementation and Integration: Lead the design, implementation, and integration of MIS systems, including software applications, databases, and networking infrastructure. Ensure seamless interoperability between different systems to facilitate data exchange and workflow automation.

2.         Data Management and Analysis: Develop and enforce data management policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of organizational data. Oversee data warehousing, data mining, and reporting activities to provide timely and relevant information to stakeholders.

3.         IT Infrastructure Management: Manage the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems. Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT resources to support business operations.

4.         Project Management: Plan; coordinate, and supervise IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and allocate resources accordingly to ensure successful project execution within budget and timeline constraints.

5.         Vendor Management: Evaluate, recommend, and manage third-party vendors and service providers for software, hardware, and IT services. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and industry standards.

6.         User Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to end-users to maximize the utilization of MIS systems. Develop user documentation, manuals, and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer and skill development.

7.         Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in data privacy and information security.

8.         Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop IT strategies and initiatives aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of MIS systems and processes.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

 At a minimum:

• Upper 2nd Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• An understanding of SQL and Power BI
• Knowledge of coding in at least one (1) programming language (Python or Java) while not essential would be an asset
• Knowledge of CRM software – e.g. Freshdesk while not essential would be an asset
