SALARY SCALE: $2,186,996.23 - $2,483,397.08

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for efficiently performing messenger services and, executing errands both on and off-site. Scope of responsibilities include overseeing the seamless distribution and collection of mail, printed materials, and supplies, and ensuring the basic maintenance and safety of the assigned motorcycle.  

 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• A High School Diploma with a minimum of three (3) GCE or CXC subjects inclusive of English Language.
• Valid motorcycle licence.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a similar capacity.

  DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver and collect mail, collect Harbour fee receipts from Customs and shipping agents.
• Photocopy documents as directed.
• Mail letters and carry out required activities at the post office.
• Carry out errands as directed.
• Deliver notices and publications to media houses.
• Operate a motor bike for pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws, regulations, and speed limits.
• Facilitate the collection and delivery of mail in the absence of the designated driver or messenger from another department.
• Carry out basic motor maintenance to the motor bike assigned; maintain same in a clean, polished, and flawless operating condition.
• Report any problems/defects related to the functioning and maintenance of the motor bike to the Manager, Harbours.
• Any other duties assigned.
