MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The successful candidate will maintain optimum functionality and reliability for all plant equipment and will be responsible for maintenance and reliability. S/he will perform jobs such as inspections, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

• Three (3) years maintenance related experience.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process diagrams and assembly prints parts list.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inspects, trouble shoot and assess condition of maintenance systems(eg. gear drive, heat exchanger, repair and install mechanical couplings, mechanical seals, basic electric arc-welding skills, tubing and compression fittings), to detect deviations from normal operating conditions and recommend corrective action.
• Participates in Reliability Centered Maintenance activities inclusive of gathering CBM data, assessing equipment condition and risks of failure and recommending mitigating actions to maximize equipment accuracy, uptime and efficiencies.
• Performs pre-job hazard analysis.
• Determines tools, equipment and spare parts requirements for assigned jobs and advise the Supervisor and Planner.
• Participates in equipment development activities for the continuous improvement of the Refinery.
