VACANCY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA):
MANAGER, ENGINEERING AND OPERATIONS MAINTENANCE
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the maintenance of the engineering infrastructure and operations at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
Main Responsibilities:
- Confer with management to discuss projects specifications and procedures.
- Coordinate and direct projects making detailed plans to accomplish goals/objectives and direct the integration of the clinical activates.
- Provide specialised technical support and consulting services to various areas of the institutions.
- Monitor and communicate on International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) International Standards and Certification.
- Sensitise senior staff on important and relevant service/design decisions.
- Ensure that the Authority’s objectives are achieved in an efficient manner at all times.
- Engage with external agencies, inclusive of the Ministry of Health and Senior Engineers on the execution of projects.
- Facilitate with the preparation of departmental budgets.
- Facilitate in manpower planning for the department.
- Responsible for the preparation of designs for engineering works.
- Plan for equipment change out over a five (5) year duration.
- Prepare specifications, tender documents and bills of quantities for engineering works
- Prepare Tender Evaluation Reports.
- Prepare Completion Reports on engineering contract works.
- Prepare Board Notes to seek approvals for major engineering works.
- Mentor new engineers and ensure they receive effective coaching for sound development.
- Oversee the validation of all projects reports.
- Manage costs and ensure quality control on engineering works being undertaken.
- Monitor and advise on space allocation for different departments and new services.
- Seek approval for all overtime work before such is executed.
- Ensure that prompt responses are provided for lodged requests for services at other departments.
- Prepare Payment Certificates and authorise payments to subcontractors.
- Review specifications and designs done by external consultants and provide user requirements.
- Ensure that new and existing products and processes are in line with certification requirements
- Provide technical assistance to Senior Engineers as and when required.
- Advise on items for disposal and review and recommend disposal methods.
- Assist with monitoring and certifying works in other Institutions within the Authority in collaboration with the Complex Administrator and formulate engineering related projects.
- Provide technical assistance to other hospitals on equipment specifications, tender documents and contracts.
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Master of Science in Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Engineering.
- Current registration with the Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago.
- Minimum of Eight (8) years experience in a Senior Engineer position at an established industrial or large commercial environment; five (5) years of which in a supervisory capacity of at least forty (40) professional and technical staff.
- Certification in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects and AutoCAD.
Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed programme is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago
